Welcome to the fall 2018 semester at the University of Arizona. I hope you had a wonderful summer and that you are ready for a fantastic year.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Michael Dake will step into the role of co-chair and lead the search. 

With mixed emotions, I am announcing that Gregg Goldman has accepted the position of Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

As you may know, Dr. Melissa Vito will be stepping away from her role as Senior Vice President for Student Affairs, Enrollment Management and Strategic Initiatives and will be moving into the private sector effective July 1, staying active in higher education outreach and advocacy.

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Moore as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. 

I wrote to you during the spring semester to express my concern regarding instances of sexual assault, relationship violence and discrimination on our campus and, more importantly, the University’s response to alleged incidents. At that time, I committed to ensuring that our approaches to education, prevention, adjudication and survivor support are exemplars across the country, while maintaining a consistent, fair and transparent process.
 

I am pleased to announce we have appointed Celina Ramirez as University Compliance Officer for the University of Arizona.
