I reach out with the sad news that Karl Eller passed away yesterday. The University of Arizona has lost an alumnus, advocate and supporter of national stature. His decades of leadership and philanthropy have been nothing short of transformative.

I am thrilled to share with you that the University of Arizona has announced a significant gift to support the College of Optical Sciences.

I am pleased to announce that we have launched a national search to fill the position of Senior Vice President, Business Affairs and CFO (SVP/CFO). The person selected for this role will be a crucial member of my senior team and will provide strategic leadership of the UA’s finance and administrative functions. Responsible for managerial oversight of the division of Business Affairs, they will lead areas of the university ranging from financial services to facilities management and the UAPD.
 

This morning, I was honored to represent the collective voice of the University of Arizona as I presented our new strategic plan to the Arizona Board of Regents. Now, I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU, because this plan would not exist without you.
