Tragic Loss of Student

As some of you may already be aware, our Wildcat community suffered a tragic loss early this morning with the off-campus death of sophomore Erin Jones. Our deepest sympathies go out to Erin’s family in California and across the country, her friends, and her classmates in Tucson and Newport Beach, who are absorbing the heartbreaking news today.

Joseph Glover selected as UArizona provost

Glover, a mathematician who served as provost at the University of Florida for 15 years, helped lead that land-grant university to its status as a top-five U.S. public university, and helped establish a major UF initiative related to artificial intelligence.

Glover Selected as Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

After a thorough national search that included very strong candidates, I am pleased to announce that I have appointed Joseph Glover as the University of Arizona’s next Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, pending approval by the Arizona Board of Regents. Dr. Glover’s experience and priorities as a leader reflect our University values, and his track record of academic excellence, faculty support, and collaborative leadership will benefit our students, faculty, staff and community. He will begin his service on July 1.
