UA Grads Urged to 'Do Something Special'

Although Commencement keynote speaker Ray Mabus drew heavily from his military background, he told the Class of 2018 that "quiet acts of heroism" are practiced daily by the likes of teachers, nurses and neighbors. With UANews 360 video.

Congratulations Class of 2018!

Monday, I joined the graduates of the College of Medicine – Phoenix for my first Commencement ceremony as UA president, and this Friday, nearly 4,500 students will come to Arizona Stadium to receive their degrees in front of almost 43,000 friends and family.

Michael D. Dake Appointed Senior VP for Health Sciences

April 12, 2018

Currently a professor of cardiothoracic surgery at Stanford University, Dake made medical history in 1992 with the implantation of the world's first thoracic stent-graft at Stanford.

The former governor of Mississippi also served as secretary of the Navy in the Obama administration, establishing aggressive energy goals for the Navy and Marine Corps.

Appointment of Dr. Michael Dake as Senior Vice President for Health Sciences

Statement on Arizona Supreme Court Decision on DACA

I am disappointed that our DACA students will no longer qualify for the tuition rate that their resident classmates pay. In conjunction with the Arizona Board of Regents, we will comply with the ruling and support our DACA students to continue their education at the UA.
