Mary Beth Tucker
Mary Beth Tucker is Chief Compliance Officer at the University of Arizona, where she oversees institutional compliance with federal and state laws, Arizona Board of Regents policies, and university policies and procedures. She advances a culture of compliance and ethical conduct through oversight, education and training, risk identification, report assessment, investigation and response, monitoring and auditing, and continuous improvement. She leads several high-risk and highly regulated compliance functions, including Clery Act compliance, Title IX, Youth Protection, and ethics and compliance reporting.
Mary Beth brings over 20 years of experience in compliance, civil rights enforcement, and investigations. Her background includes investigating and resolving discrimination and harassment complaints; overseeing Title IX and civil rights grievance processes; managing ethics and compliance reporting systems; and developing training and prevention programs. Her approach to compliance emphasizes care for the institution and its members, recognizing that effective compliance protects individuals, strengthens trust, and supports institutional integrity.
In addition to her administrative leadership, Mary Beth has served as a Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law, teaching Corporate Compliance and Title IX and Civil Rights Law, and has presented at professional conferences and seminars on compliance, civil rights, and employment law.
Previously, Mary Beth served as Assistant Vice President for Human Resources, where she advised supervisors, managers, and senior leaders on employee relations, recruitment strategies, performance management, policy application, and organizational effectiveness.
Mary Beth earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law and holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
