Congratulations to the OSIRIS-REx Team! Robert C. Robbins Sept. 24, 2023 Today, NASA’s University of Arizona-led OSIRIS-REx mission spacecraft completed its historic 7-year journey to Bennu and back, traveling billions of miles since its launch in September 2016 to obtain a sample from the near-Earth asteroid Bennu. That sample is now being retrieved from the Utah desert where the sample delivery capsule landed this morning. University Communications will post OSIRIS-REx stories throughout the day with updates. Presidential Advisory Commission Recommends Steps for UArizona's Continuing Leadership in Desert Agriculture Robert C. Robbins Aug. 30, 2023 In December 2022, I commissioned a report on the future of agriculture and food production in Arizona as we address the threats posed by a drying climate. Today, the Presidential Advisory Commission on the Future of Agriculture and Food Production in a Drying Climate issued that report. The report provides a path forward for the University of Arizona and our state, which the authors have described as a “critical contributor to national food security.” Read More
