Enrollment at the U of A expands access for Arizonans and prioritizes student success
Dear campus community,
Our fall 2026 census is complete. This year's incoming class brings stronger academic preparation and expanded access for Arizona students.
The census itself is the official snapshot of enrollment on the 21st day of the semester, when we capture point-in-time information about our student population: how many enrolled, how many stay and graduate, and where they come from.
For more details about the fall 2026 census release today, please watch my video message and read our news story.
This fall, we have enrolled nearly 68,000 students across all campuses, Arizona Online and University of Arizona Global Campus. Our incoming class, not including UAGC, brings 8,498 new undergraduate students, of which 6,111 are first-year students. The majority are Arizonans, and a third are first-generation college students.
This class is one of our most academically accomplished and includes the largest Honors College class in our history and 12 out of Arizona’s 20 Flinn Scholars. Every one of these talented students has earned their place here, and together they will set the standard for excellence across our campus.
These results mean that our budget remains stable. Fall 2026 enrollment generates the revenue we need to sustain the university’s financial health, and we remain committed to maximizing the benefit of every student dollar.
Student success starts with preparation, and it grows through the support we provide to students as they progress toward their degrees.
I am grateful to the teams in Enrollment Management and across our colleges and units who are helping every student succeed and delivering on our promise.
Sincerely,
Suresh
