Thanksgiving Greeting from President Hart

Dear faculty, staff, students and friends,
As the holiday season draws near, and we look forward to gathering with our families and acknowledging the blessings in our lives, I’d like to pause and reflect on all the ways that the University of Arizona is blessed. I am grateful to have such talented students, faculty, appointed professionals and staff as members of our Wildcat family. You are all essential to our success.
To our faculty, who engage our students in scholarly pursuits in and out of the classroom, and whose innovative research and scholarship impacts our community and our world: Thank you for your commitment to excellence. Your talent and drive makes the UA a cutting-edge university.
To our students, who with their bright young minds are the leaders and innovators of tomorrow: Thank you for choosing the UA. We are so fortunate to play a part in your continued growth and success, and it is an honor to have you here.
To our appointed professionals and staff members, whose expertise supports our scholarship, maintains our buildings, and keeps our campus a beautiful and welcoming place: Thank you for your hard work. Without your contributions, the University could not function.
And to our wonderful community partners and friends: Thank you for your invaluable support and collaboration. We look forward to our continued work together and to building further synergistic partnerships.
Our University has seen a number of exciting developments this year. We’ve launched our “Never Settle” strategic academic and business plan, which will guide our institution going forward. We’ve begun renovations to preserve Old Main, our University’s oldest building and the front porch of our campus. We’ve made tremendous strides with Tech Launch Arizona, helping to bring more UA innovations to market. And we’re excited to be moving forward with our cutting-edge OSIRIS-REx mission to retrieve a sample from a near-Earth asteroid. None of these things would have been possible without a community of support. I humbly thank each and every one of you for being a part of this great University.
I wish you all a joyful and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday. Enjoy your families and be well.
