SUBJECT: Call for Nominations for Regents’ Professorships
Deadline: Friday, October 26, 2012
Note: Requirements and guidelines have changed!
The Call for Nominations of candidates for the 2012-2013 Regents' Professors is now open. The designation of Regents' Professor is the highest of faculty ranks and is reserved for full professors with exceptional achievements that have brought them national or international recognition. Regents' Professors are expected to exemplify the highest objectives and standards of the University through their scholarship, research or creative activities, and teaching. These appointments, approved by the Arizona Board of Regents, are limited to three percent of the tenured and tenure-track faculty and carry a modest salary increment.
Please note the maximum number of letters of support for each candidate has changed from ten (10) down to eight (8) letters. The minimum required letters remains at six (6) letters.
Nominations are accepted only electronically. Information about the nomination process, criteria and instructions can be found on the provost's website or by clicking the links below.
More information regarding honored faculty positions can be found on the Arizona Board of Regents website: Honored Faculty Positions.
Chairs of nominating groups whose nominees are in the second or third year of consideration must update and resubmit ALL candidates' dossiers online as well in accordance with the updated criteria and guidelines.
As you contemplate worthy candidates to nominate, I ask you to give particular consideration to qualified women and minority candidates and to consider the full range of academic disciplines.
